Brian Shirley joins Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for Illinois doubleheader

Losing the first two events of Illinois Speedweek to weather, Brian Shirley made the short trip to Famer City (Ill.) Raceway on Friday afternoon for the $25,000-to-win Farmer City 74.

With 55 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series entries signed in, Shirley transferred to the 74-lap main event through a B-Main and was an early retiree on lap 55. Brian was scored 26th with a DNF.

Making the short trip to Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway on Saturday, Brian nabbed the final transfer spot in his heat race and started the $30,000-to-win Spring Shoutout from 14th. With his fun meter pegged for the weekend, Shirley pulled off on lap 14 and was scored 28th.
