Shirley third in Illinois Dirt Shootout at Fairbury Speedway

Making one more start in Illinois before leaving for Eldora, Brian Shirley joined the MARS Late Model Championship Series at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway on Saturday evening for the $10,000-to-win Illinois Dirt Shootout.

Shirley picked up a heat race win, started on the pole of the 50-lap feature, and led the first 32 circuits. Ashton Winger was able to sneak by for the lead and Brian settled for a third-place finish behind Winger and Jason Feger.
