Brian Shirley finishes Speedweeks marathon with World of Outlaws at Volusia Speedway Park
Determined to finish Speedweeks on a strong note, Brian Shirley and his Bob Cullen Racing team checked in with the World of Outlaw Late Model Series at Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) on Monday afternoon for the DIRTcar Nationals.
After missing the $7,000-to-win opener, Shirley raced his way into the feature event on Tuesday evening and recorded a strong sixth-place finish. In a split-field feature on Wednesday, Brian drove to his best finish of the week with a fifth-place outing.
Under the World of Outlaws banner the rest of the week, Brian finished 17th and 14th in Thursday and Friday's $12,000-to-win shows before wrapping up the week-long event with a 15th-place finish in the $20,000-to-win finale.
