Shirley Wraps Up Wild West Shootout with Top-5 Outing

Kicking off the final three rounds of the Arizona miniseries, Brian Shirley was one of a stout field of 62 entries for the Wild West Shootout on Friday. Shirley came in fifth fastest in his time trial group before placing third in his heat race. Advancing six spots in the 30-lap feature, Brian posted a ninth-place finish.

On Saturday afternoon, Shirley fell one-spot short of a transfer position in his heat race. He later picked up a B-Main win to lock into the 19th starting position for the $5,000-to-win feature. Working his way forward in the 40-lapper, Brian took the checked flag in the tenth position.

Wrapping up the 15th Annual Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout on Sunday, Brian secured his spot into the $25,000-to-win finale with a heat race victory. Drawing the pole position for the 50-lapper, Shirley settled to a fourth-place finish behind Jonathan Davenport, Tyler Erb, and Ricky Thornton Jr. Bobby Pierce completed the Top-5 finishers.
