World Finals brings Shirley to The Dirt Track at Charlotte

Returning to the driver’s seat of the Bob Cullen Racing No. 3s Late Model, Brian Shirley visited the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Friday evening to debut in a Longhorn Chassis for the NGK NTK World Finals. In a field of 48 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Brian’s 11th-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main. Needing to place third or better to make the opening night feature, Shirley came one spot shy with a fourth-place finish. (Zach Yost photo)

The following night, Shirley logged a sixth-place finish in his heat, giving him one final shot at the $12,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Locking in the top three, Brian logged a seventh-place outing.
