Shirley Runner-Up in Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic

Brian Shirley and the Bob Cullen Racing team made the trip to Clarksville Speedway (Clarksville, Tenn.) over the weekend for the 16th Annual Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic. (Josh James Artwork)

Shirley qualified seventh overall against a field of 21 entries in Friday night's preliminary event, earning him the seventh-starting spot for the $3,000-to-win feature. Brian advanced two spots in the 25-lap affair to finish fifth behind race winner Tanner English, Josh Putnam, Donald McIntosh, and Booger Brooks.

Saturday's program saw the winner's purse increase to $5,000. Shirley earned the fourth spot on the feature grid via his qualifying efforts. Brian raced inside the Top-5 throughout the 30-lapper before crossing the finish line in second behind race winner, Booger Brooks. Donald McIntosh, Dillon Tidmore, and Bob Gardner completed the Top-5 finishers.
