Shirley grabs Top-5 finish with World of Outlaws at River Cities Speedway
With the four-day swing reduced to a three-day swing because of lingering wet weather, Brian Shirley showed up at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, N.D.) on Friday afternoon among 31 World of Outlaws Real American Beer Series entries.
Shirley set quicktime in qualifying and picked up a heat race win which earned him a second-row starting spot after the redraw. Brian got back to the runner-up position but eventually fell back to the fifth spot after 40-laps.
Finishing 21st in Saturday's show at Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minn.), Shirley looked to end the weekend on a better note and put together an 11th-place run at Nodak Speedway (Minot, N.D.) on Sunday.
Brian currently sits in eighth in the World of Outlaw point standings.
