Brian Shirley earns podium with World of Outlaws at I-55 Raceway

Brian Shirley began the week with the Summer Nationals at Wilmot (Wis.) Raceway on Monday afternoon but fell back in his heat race and did not start the $5,000-to-win feature.

The Bob Cullen Racing team headed home and regrouped before making the trek to I-55 Federated Raceway Park (Pevely, Mo.) on Friday afternoon for the first night of the co-sanctioned Firecracker Faceoff.

Finishing 23rd in the $12,000-to-win opener, Shirley focused on Saturday's finale and earned a podium finish behind Drake Troutman and Mike Harrison.

Shirley wrapped up the week with a visit to Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway on Sunday where he finished 20th in the $5,000-to-win show.

Brian Shirley remains sixth in the WoOLMS point standings.
