Brian Shirley lands fourth and third-place finishes during Nippy 50 weekend at Maquoketa
Brian Shirley was able to race closer to home over the weekend as he competed with the MARS Late Model Championship Series at Maquoketa (Iowa) Speedway for the two-day Nippy 50.
With over 40 Late Models signed in, Shirley picked up a heat race win and started fourth in the $10,000-to-win opener. Brian charged up to the runner-up position briefly but fell back to his starting position of fourth when the checkers flew.
Charging from third-to-first in a heat race on Saturday, Brian once again started the A-Main from the second-row and landed on the podium in third for the $15,000-to-win finale.
