Tough luck follows Brian Shirley to Ocala Speedway for Wieland Winter Nationals
Ready to shake off his bad luck streak, Brian Shirley checked into Ocala (Fla) Speedway on Tuesday night for the Wieland Winter Nationals with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
In Tuesday's $7,000 opener, Shirley was running inside the Top-5 when a flat right-rear resulted in a 22nd-place outing. Brian experienced more of the same the following two nights as Shirley was caught up in accidents both nights.
Heading into the weekend, Brian was once again running inside the Top-5 when a flat right-rear took him out of contention for the $12,000-to-win feature.
During Saturday's $25,000-to-win finale, Shirley was racing for a transfer spot in his heat race when he was caught up in another on-track incident. Brian did not start his B-Main.
